Belfast School Of Theology
What We Believe
“To equip followers of Jesus for missional impact through theological education and spiritual development within a vibrant academic and worshipping community.”.
Everything we do at BSOT will have ‘missional impact’.
Missional Impact has four standards:
Authoritative articulation of Christiandoctrine;
Effective communication of the gospel incontext;
Relevant application of Christian principles tocontemporary issues in society;
Empowerment to spiritual maturity.
What will this look like practically?
To fulfil this vision and purpose, over the next 5 years BSOT will concentrate on three strategic areas:
Theological Education (Training)
Christian Spiritual Theology (Heart)
Apologetics and Applied Theology
Centres for each area
The Board is keen to develop a ‘centres’ approach for each of these strategic areas:
Centre for Theological Education
Centre for Christian Spiritual Theology
Centre for Apologetics and Ethics
Statement of Faith
The divine inspiration and absolute authority of the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God.
The eternal Sonship, Virgin Birth and Deity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The guilt and depravity of human nature in consequence of the Fall.
The substitutionary death of the Lord Jesus Christ and his resurrection as the only way of salvation from sin through faith affording salvation by grace through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
The personality of the Holy Spirit and the necessity of his work in regeneration and sanctification.
The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
