The Library

Resourcing our students

with an extensive library…

Welcome to the library at Belfast School of Theology! We offer spacious study facilities across two rooms: the Main Library (for group and individual study) and the Reading Room (a silent study area). With seating for 70 users, including individual study carrels, you’ll have access to the Heritage library catalogue both onsite and online.

Our library boasts an extensive collection of books and journals, with around 21,000 books and over 6,000 journal articles in print. The collection includes many specialist texts in Biblical Studies, Practical Theology, Missiology, Ethics, Theological Education, and Disability Theology.

We also provide a growing collection of online resources, offering access to over 1,500 journals through the ATLA Religion database, AtlaSerials PLUS, EBSCO’s Religion and Philosophy Collection, and SocIndex. Additionally, we are developing an ebook collection to facilitate remote access to resources.

Multiple copies of core texts are available for student use, with further study resources provided through Moodle, our virtual learning environment.

Our library features significant holdings of missionary biographies, with special collections on Amy Carmichael and the History of Missions.
