The aim of this course is to explore some of these within the book of Genesis\, and provide ways to understand and read them better as part of scripture.\n \n\nAbout the speaker/s: \n\nDr William Ford – Ph.D.\, BA (Durham)\, MSt (Oxford)\, PGCHET (QUB)\, FHEA\n\n \nWilliam joined BST in 2009\, and has taught Old Testament and wider biblical subjects ever since. He is also the Programme Leader for the undergraduate programme.\n \nHe is originally from England\, and studied theology and Old Testament in Durham and Oxford. He also spent six years in London\, firstly serving with the London City Mission and then working as a chartered accountant. Prior to joining BST he taught at All Nations Christian College.\nHe is particularly interested in how we understand theologically difficult biblical passages\, especially those that seem to portray God in negative ways.

She is an advocate for wellbeing\, regularly writing\, speaking and coaching groups in how to look after all aspects of their wellbeing.  \nDeborah is the founder of Thrive Academy\, a social enterprise set up with the aim of equipping parents\, educating young people\, and informing those who work with them in the area of digital wellbeing and resilience. Her own PhD research explores the relationship between social media and the wellbeing of young people.  \nDeborah lives in Craigavon with her husband and two teenagers and is an active member of her local congregation.

She is the author of multiple books including ‘Where is God in All the Suffering?’ (runner up Michael Ramsay Prize\, 2023)\, bestselling ‘Why Trust the Bible?’ and ‘Mary’s Voice: Advent Reflections to Contemplate the Coming of Christ.’⁠ ⁠ \nOver the last twenty five years\, Amy has spoken in 40 countries as a public advocate for the Christian faith including public lectures and open forums on university campuses\, as a broadcaster on TV and radio\, and addressing Politicians and Parliamentarians in the Speakers Rooms and Chapel at the UK Parliament and staffers on Capitol Hill and the West Wing of The White House.
