This new course will explore C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia, with a special focus on the big ideas from Christian theology that infuse them. We will consider each of the Narnia books in turn, and the key theological concepts that Lewis foregrounded, including Creation, Redemption, Spiritual Warfare, and Restoration. Classes will be informal and interactive, with opportunities for discussion. We will ask why and how Lewis used the imagination to explore central aspects of the Christian faith, and consider their relevance in our lives.
